In 2027, M Curated Tours will travel to Cape Town during the city’s most significant cultural week, when the Investec Cape Town Art Fair and Cape Town Design Week bring together leading voices in contemporary art and design from across Africa and internationally.
The programme is structured to provide a clear and grounded understanding of Cape Town and the broader South African context ahead of the fair. Through a considered series of visits, guests will engage with the country’s cultural and historical landscape — including key museum and heritage sites, botanical environments and carefully led township visits that offer insight into the social and cultural fabric of the city. This context is central to the experience, providing a deeper framework through which to understand the artistic practices encountered during the week.
The itinerary will then centre on VIP access to the Investec Cape Town Art Fair, including early entry, curated walkthroughs and invitation-only events. The fair has established itself as the principal meeting point for contemporary African galleries and collectors, offering a focused overview of artistic practices emerging across the continent alongside a strong international presence.
Running alongside the fair, Cape Town Design Week will extend the programme into the city’s design culture, with selected visits to exhibitions, studios and independent spaces that reflect the ongoing dialogue between contemporary art, architecture and collectible design in the region.
Beyond the fairs, the programme will move through Cape Town’s wider cultural landscape via focused gallery visits, artist studio meetings, museum programmes and private collections. Together, these encounters offer a considered perspective on the artists, institutions and cultural narratives shaping one of the most dynamic creative centres in the Southern Hemisphere.
As with all M Curated Tours, the group will be intentionally limited to ten guests, allowing for a more focused, conversational and access-driven experience suited to both individual travellers and those travelling together.
