Chandigarh | Modernism & Urban Vision
Chandigarh occupies a singular position within twentieth-century architectural history. Conceived by Le Corbusier and his collaborators in the years following India’s independence, it remains one of the most fully realised modernist urban experiments — a city shaped by ideology as much as design.
Our time in Chandigarh focuses on the Capitol Complex and key civic buildings, approached not as monuments but as expressions of political optimism and institutional ambition. Walkthroughs are framed by discussion around modernism, governance and the translation of architectural theory into lived urban space. Where possible, conversations with local architectural historians deepen this context. The emphasis throughout is on architecture as cultural proposition — form embedded with meaning.
Mumbai | The Art Fair & Contemporary Practice
The program then transitions to Mumbai during the art fair, situating collectors within the centre of India’s contemporary art discourse. Mumbai functions as both commercial hub and cultural laboratory — a city where established practices and emergent voices operate within an increasingly global framework.
Alongside curated fair walkthroughs with VIP access, the program includes focused gallery visits across Colaba, Kala Ghoda and adjacent districts, and structured conversations with gallerists and curators. The intention is not simply to attend the fair, but to understand the ecosystem that surrounds it — its market trajectory, institutional frameworks and international positioning.
As with all M Curated Tours programs, participation is limited to ten collectors. The scale is deliberate, ensuring access, depth of discussion and a shared intellectual engagement with place and practice.
